On this journey from the south coast to the north coast we will discover the Gargano area through trekking immersed in wonderful historical testimonies and incredible natural landscapes, a World Heritage Site.
- Backpack with a capacity of about 40 l (will be transported during excursions). It is recommended to have a backpack, which can be closed in the main backpack.

DAY 01: MANFREDONIA
Meeting in Manfredonia at 18.00 with the Guide
DAY 02: PULSANO VALLEY
Free time for a walk in Manfredonia and in the late morning we will start trekking along the historical path, which goes into the Pulsano Valley until reaching the splendid Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria and the suggestive Hermitages set in the valley.
Overnight in the Abbey.

DAY 03: MOUNT S.ANGELO
We will set off from the Abbey to reach, as pilgrims did, the sanctuary of Saint Michael in Mount S. Angelo.
Here we will visit the sanctuary and the castle overlooking the valley north of the village.

DAY 04: MONTE SACRO
Transfer by bus to La Monaca and trekking, with tasting of typical products for lunch, to Monte Sacro north of Mattinata, home to wonderful orchid blooms and splendid abbey remains.
Transfer to the Umbra Forest.

DAY 05: UMBRA FOREST
Ring trekking in the Umbra Forest.
We will visit the wild and unspoiled nature, through the centuries-old beech forest and, if we are lucky, we will meet the wildlife of the reserve. We will stay in a refuge with dinner based on typical local products.

DAY 06: PESCHICI
Transfer to Coppo dei Fossi and trekking, from the inland to the coast of Peschici, passing through pre-Christian testimonies and beaches with medieval towers and the typical “Trabucchi”.

DAY 07: TREMITI ISLANDS
We will sail to the marine reserve of the Tremiti Islands.
We will reach the Island of San Nicola by ferry where, with a short historical trek, we will go into the fortified Abbey.
We will continue circumnavigating the islands with a small boat to appreciate the cliffs from the sea.

€ 500 approx. for food and lodging, tastings, guided tours, various boat and bus transfers. Excluding round trip.
N.B.
- Lunches will be packed and/or free choice (when we meet bars/inns) on walking days.
- We will stay at hotel/B&B sometimes taking advantage of the half board service, sometimes we will get to know small characteristic places.
- The first night is spent at the Abbey in dormitories. A spirit of adaptation is needed to share the room and everyone must be equipped with a sleeping bag/liner.
